Carolyn MacKenzie is one of the most familiar faces in Canadian morning television. As co-host of Global's The Morning Show, she reaches a national audience five mornings a week with the mix of news, culture, and everyday life that has made the show a fixture in Canadian households.
Her path there ran through the hardest end of the business. Carolyn started her career as a news videographer in Sydney, Nova Scotia, shooting, reporting, and editing her own stories, before moving through newsrooms in Barrie and eventually to Global in Toronto. She anchored Global's weekend news and later the weekday 11pm broadcast, and along the way earned an RTDNA Award for her investigative reporting on the very real problem of inaccessibility on public transit. That reporting background is what gives her lifestyle work its credibility. She asks better questions than the format requires.
On The Morning Show, Carolyn produces her own segments and interviews everyone from authors and chefs to celebrities and lifestyle experts. She has covered Harry and Meghan's wedding from Windsor and Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee visit, and she has built a reputation for making an hour of live television feel like a conversation with a friend.
Off camera, Carolyn is a Toronto-based wife and mom of two whose home renovation was featured in Hello! Canada. Her audience knows her as someone who is genuinely in the same life stage they are, juggling work, family, and a house that always needs something. That trust is why her recommendations land.
